hAPPY hALLOWEEN

hAPPY hALLOWEEN

THE HAG

The Hag is astride,
This night for to ride;
The Devill and shee together:
Through thick, and through thin,
Now out, and then in,
Though ne’r so foule be the weather.

A Thorn or a Burr
She takes for a Spurre:
With a lash of a Bramble she rides now,
Through Brakes and through Bryars,
O’re Ditches, and Mires,
She followes the Spirit that guides now.

No Beast, for his food,
Dares now range the wood;
But husht in his laire he lies lurking:
While mischiefs, by these,
On Land and on Seas,
At noone of Night are working,

The storme will arise,
And trouble the skies;
This night, and more for the wonder,
The ghost from the Tomb
Affrighted shall come,
Cal’d out by the clap of the Thunder.

Did You Know – Email Link in Your Lens

Abandoned Mailbox
Image by cindy47452 via Flickr

Do you want someone to contact you by simply clicking a link right in your lens? Well have I got the solution for you! And it is super easy to do if you add a bit of HTML.

The following code, replaced with your e-mail address will result in a clickable hyperlink that takes your reader right to their email program.

  • This code <a href=”mailto:your_email_address”>E-mail Me!</a>
  • Equals this E-mail Me! in your text
Taking this one step further – it will help you hone in on what lens the message came from, let’s add a subject line that will automatically be filled in when your reader clicks on the link.
  • This code <a href=”mailto:your_email_address?subject=Lens Title or keyword”>E-mail Me!</a>
  • Equals this E-mail Me!

Important notes and points to ponder:

~ By adding a link like this in your lens your email address will become public – make sure you consider this huge fact before taking the above steps.

~ Consider using this technique if your lens is highlighting  your online business presence and you have a separate business email address.

~ Make sure to have a spam folder set up in your email program and check it from time to time to see if there are messages you want to read.

~ If you opt not to use this method but would like to give people the opportunity to contact you, be sure to have your Contact Me option turned on – double check this in your lensmaster profile.

LikaholicNot going to tell you what I thought when I saw Likaholix for the first time, just know it was funny and a tinge naughty :O  So what is it, I hear you ask? One quick thing it is NOT…a place to share spammy stuff! No one is going to pay attention to it, so don’t even try it.

Here are a few quick things you might like to know about Likaholix…

  • Build your own lists (mini folders) to keep your likes organized
  • Just come try it – no harm, no foul!

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you decide to join please link Likaholix to your Facebook account in order for me to get credit for you signing up – thank you!

From my dashboard I chose a random word – lettuce – typed it in, clicked on search and SCORE! I discovered the coolest lens, Growing Your Own Organic Lettuce Garden.

Prep your beds, sprinkle on your seeds, water, watch em’ grow, and harvest! Lensmaster Mark Keeler makes anyone with an ounce of gumption want to give it a shot. While I was reading through the lens I was already picking out the perfect plot in my yard ;)

Encouraging you to go read the lens – while you are at it take a peek at the other stuff he has created. Gourmet Home Coffee Roasting also caught my eye – he’s even added his own YouTube video on there!

thought i'd leave you with something cute....

The new Rocket Mom’s are off and running with ‘try-it week’ and it is amazing to see what they have been up to. One lens in particular caught my attention because it is something I heard about way after my boys were grown and thought it a very cool communication tool.

The lens is Teach My Baby Sign Language by Stephanie (sdakin). She has not only written about a very valuable parenting tool, she has peppered the lens with personal experience, plus helpful photos and tips. So mommy’s, daddy’s, Nana’s and Pop’s head in to see what Stephanie has created…bet you will be pleasantly surprised.
