Charisma Angel
“My point is that people don’t become leaders because they have charisma; people get charisma because they’re leaders.” ~Seth Godin

So what is charisma?

  • German sociologist Max Weber describes it as, “…a certain quality of an individual personality, by virtue of which s/he is “set apart” from ordinary people and treated as endowed with supernatural, superhuman, or at least specifically exceptional powers or qualities. These as such are not accessible to the ordinary person, but are regarded as divine in origin or as exemplary, and on the basis of them the individual concerned is treated as a leader.”
  • Tina from ThinkSimpleNow wrote in her article 8 Keys to Instant Charisma some interesting points to ponder. I’ve added these lensmasters in action:

By now, I think many of you know I love to randomly wonder around Squidoo. There are some real awesome things you can find either by searching a word or by finding a lens that has been referred to you via Tagfoot, delicious, StumbleUpon, Twitter, or any number of other online sites.

Well, when I headed into The making of a School Shooter via a referral link, I was totally taken in…I could not stop reading. The lens left me knowing I had to contact the lensmaster to ask the buzz-in-my-head question:”How were you able to write this in an objective manner when it could so easily turn emotional, give away your inner feelings? Boshemia replied, “Never satisfied with the answers, I always wanted to know more. I like standing in the middle of an issue and trying to see both sides, in a way playing devil’s advocate.” This most excellently exhibits what you can expect while reading this lens…no judgment, thought provoking questions, and you immediately get the sense you are reading something that is well researched.

Taking my contact a little bit further I asked boshemia to express herself, let us all get a glimpse into why she writes on Squidoo…this is her reply: “Socrates said that “The unexamined life is not worth living”, he believed that the purpose of human life was growth, both personal and spiritual. I agree with him. When you take a close look at your life, you see patterns. When you look at the lives of others those patterns expand. Human nature becomes less of a mystery once you see and understand those patterns.

Life is beautiful, even the ugly parts of it carry a certain beauty. On my blog, in my novels, and here at Squidoo I explore many of these patterns we find recurring throughout our lives.”
